Safe City Monitoring System (SCMS) was developed in 2010 for unit NKRA Bandar Selamat under Jabatan Perancangan dan Desa and collaborate with Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM). SCMS were using Geographical Information System (GIS) and Flex Viewer technology through ESRI engine to mapped crimes location. Through this system, registered user can monitor and analyze crimes rates daily, weekly, monthly and annually bassis, based on analysis function provided. Then user can plan for preventive strategy to reduce crimes rates especially in hotspot area. From 2010 to 2014, almost 500 Police stations and 115 local authorities in Malaysia was involved as a user to :
• Monitor crime location using mappin gsolution
• Run analysis such as Timeline Analysis, Aoristic Analysis, Hotspot and Repeat Location Finder to monitor crimes rates
• Create report and crimes analysis using analysis tools
• Plan preventive strategy and implement safety elements in hotspot area
• Monitor to effectiveness of safety elements that has been implemented
